As one of the few programs in the United States to offer specialized treatment in pediatric corneal and refractive disorders, the Cornea Program in The Vision Center at Children's Hospital Los Angeles serves as the major referral center for pediatric eye care.
In addition to the diagnostic and surgical excellence of our physicians, we provide children and families who come to us for vision care with the assurances of advanced technologies -- including the only dedicated refractive laser for children in the United States -- and a family-centered environment.
Our active program of research includes studies into the use of adult corneal and refractive techniques in treatment of anisometropia and corneal scarring in children, the epidemiology of refractive disorders and anterior segment development.
We treat a full spectrum of conditions involving the cornea, lens, glaucoma and anterior segment.
At the Cornea Program , we pursue an energetic research agenda designed to benefit children with a wide range of corneal disorders and advance the state of knowledge in this field. Among our investigations, we are exploring the use of adult corneal and refractive techniques in the treatment of anisometropia (unequal refractive power) and corneal scarring in children, the epidemiology of refractive disorders and anterior segment development. In addition, we have a keen interest in the development of new technologies for diagnosis and treatment.
