Neonatology at Children’s Hospital: Why Choose Us
The Fetal and Neonatal Institute offers:
- Advanced, niche treatment: Our neonatal experts collaborate with other subspecialties, including cardiology, neurology and urology. Many of our specialists have additional training that allows us to offer more targeted treatments that promote better outcomes.
- Research-driven experts: Patients and fellows alike benefit from a research-driven environment. Fellows work side-by-side with experts who are leaders in fetal and neonatal care. Our robust participation in research and clinical trials means patients have access to the most innovative new therapies.
- Gold-standard care: Patients at the Fetal and Neonatal Institute have access to gold-standard, world-class care. The Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU) has achieved Level IV status, the highest designation available. The Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program for babies is designated as a Center of Excellence — Gold Level by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO). Fellows observe and train with the most advanced equipment and resources available.
Neonatal Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program
The Neonatal Perinatal Fellowship Program has trained fellows in neonatal and perinatal medicine for over 25 years. Fellows have unique opportunities in the Fetal-Maternal Center, the Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU) and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program. Each fellow also spends a two- to four-week rotation in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) to learn more about neonatal cardiac surgery.
We admit six fellows each year to this three-year program. Learn more about the Neonatal Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program.
