Children’s Hospital Los Angeles supports several shared research facilities, known as cores, on its campus, which house specialized scientific equipment and offer expert services. Core facilities are open to all investigators at CHLA at predetermined fees. A listing of CHLA’s core facilities is found below.

Core Use Policy
When utilizing Core services, the user agrees to follow all institutional lab safety and compliance policies as well as Core User policies.
CoreConnect, a facility billing system by Priority Software, is a web-based core management system that supports the centralization of services and equipment scheduling, billing and usage tracking of our nine centralized core facilities. Use of the new system is required for all core users, core leaders and core staff.
Core Pilot Program
At CHLA, we are proud to host a Core Pilot Program that exists to supply funding support for investigators to acquire preliminary data to provide a competitive edge for securing extramural grant funding. This program is one of a number of institutional investments to grow the research portfolio of the CHLA research enterprise.
Core Reagent Inventory
Select Cores offer reagents as part of their purchasable services to the CHLA research community. A searchable Core Reagent Inventory was created in support of the CHLA research community BenchResearchHelp initiative that connects researchers with reagents when in need of a small amount of a reagent, such as an antibody, to determine the efficacy in a particular experiment.
CHLA based investigators are welcomed to browse the Cores Reagent Inventory to access the complete product list for pricing and availability. The database will be updated on an annual basis. Contact the Core for more information.
