Molecular Pathology Genomics Core
Genomics Core Overview
The CAP/CLIA certified environment of the Molecular Pathology Genomics (MPG) Core is integrally positioned within Children's Hospital Los Angeles' Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Center of Personalized Medicine. In addition, as the clinical molecular core to the Norris Cancer Center, our highly skilled staff and faculty expertise allow us to be a facilitator and driver of genomic innovation.
The MPG mission is to expand basic and translational research into a broad array of high-complexity molecular diagnostic tests that help clinicians tailor treatments to their patient’s genetic profile. This expertise is available to physicians, as well as to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies seeking to integrate the latest advances in molecular diagnostics into their own drug and diagnostic test development.
Our services encompass nucleic acid extraction, Affymetrix microarrays, Sanger sequencing, and next generation sequencing (NGS). MPG also provides assistance with project design and data analysis.
