Children's Circle of Care

Donors who make a gift to their local Children's Circle of Care hospital of $10,000 or more annually become members in this national recognition program. As members of the Children's Circle of Care, donors become part of something much larger than the gifts they have given. 1901 Society

The 1901 Society honors major supporters who have made gifts of $100,000 to $999,999 to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The Children’s Hospital Society of Los Angeles was created in 1900 to launch a pediatric hospital that would care for all children, regardless of race, religion or financial status, the same values on which the hospital’s mission is based today. By early 1901, more than 100 families had joined the Society (at the cost of $3 for one year or $50 for a lifetime membership), providing enough funds to establish Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Through their remarkable generosity, 1901 Society members embrace the spirit of philanthropy that drives advancements in pediatric care, education, research and advocacy at CHLA. Society benefits include:

  • Recognition on the 1901 Society section of the Lifetime Giving Donor Wall at the entrance to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
  • Architectural, endowment and/or program naming opportunity commensurate with gift level for qualifying gifts
  • Invitations to 1901 Society recognition events, insightful tours, symposia, speakers series, conferences and other select events on an ongoing basis
  • Printed and online recognition in the Honor Roll of Donors
  • Access to the hospital’s patient referral service

Her indefatigable spirit helped the hospital become one of the most acclaimed and respected pediatric medical centers in the western United States, a position it still holds today. Visionary gifts from members of the Mary Duque Society greatly expand care of thousands of young patients, launch bold new research and training programs, and fund major improvements to the hospital. Society benefits include:

Emma Phillips Society

Nearly a century ago, Mrs. Emma Phillips bequeathed four acres of property on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, which is now the home of Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Mrs. Phillips began a tradition of giving that continues today, and has made Children's Hospital a powerful reminder of what one person's planning can bring an entire century's children. The Emma Phillips Society honors donors who help secure the hospital’s future by naming the hospital in their estate plans or making other planned gifts. Society benefits include:

  • Recognition on the Emma Phillips Society section of the Lifetime Giving Donor Wall at the entrance to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
  • Architectural, endowment and/or program naming opportunity commensurate with gift level for qualifying gifts
  • Invitations to recognition events commensurate with lifetime giving level, insightful tours, symposia, speakers series, conferences and other select events on an ongoing basis
  • Printed and online recognition in the Honor Roll of Donors
