General Pediatrics

The Division of General Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Los Angeles provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services that begin at birth and continue throughout childhood and adolescence.

Our expert physicians, nurses and support staff provide patients and their families with a wide range of well-child care, acute care and specialty services in a family-centered atmosphere. In addition, staff have particular expertise caring for children with special health care needs and developmental disabilities, the economically underprivileged and victims of child abuse and neglect.

Programs

Child Abuse Care

The Division of General Pediatrics is home to the Audrey Hepburn CARES Team, a group of specialists with extensive raining in both child abuse and behavioral and developmental pediatrics. This dual focus enables our staff to achieve more thorough assessments for children suspected to have been victims of physical or sexual abuse. Learn more about our Child Abuse Care.

Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics

Our Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics program provides early assessments, diagnosis and interventions for children with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders and behavioral disorders. In addition to providing access to the entire spectrum of specialists necessary to provide a comprehensive diagnosis, specialists in this program assist your child's primary care clinicians in incorporating specialized treatment plans into normal care regimens. Learn more about the Developmental-Behavior Pediatrics Program.

Developmental Disabilities

The Division of General Pediatrics serves the largest number of children with special health needs and developmental disabilities of any provider in Los Angeles County, if not California, through its University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. The Center combines the expertise of a wide a variety of clinical specialists to create community-based, culturally-appropriate systems of care centered around individuals and families.

General Health Care
