Julia Hale, MHS, PA-C
I started working at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in 1992. At that time, the Orthopedic clinic staff comprised 3 surgeons, 3 nurses, and 2 cast techs. I was the first and only PA for the group for about 13 years.
My husband and I met during our graduate school training at Duke University in North Carolina. Graduating in June of 1990, we packed up our cars and drove to San Francisco to start our careers. Two years later, we found ourselves in Los Angeles, and I started at CHLA.
Fourteen years after starting at CHLA, a job change for my husband landed us in New York City. I first worked for New York Presbyterian for a year and then moved over to Hospital for Special Surgery.
In 2014, after moving back to Los Angeles, I knew I wanted to come back to CHLA Orthopedics. I have been here again since then.
I have loved my time at CHLA in Orthopedics. I've enjoyed being part of the patients' lives as they grow up. I have been so excited about the growth of the department over the last thirty-plus years.
Outside of work, my husband and I raised 3 kids. In my free time, I love to be in the outdoors and am passionate about skiing, hiking, and cycling.
