Hoda Karbalivand, MD, is an Attending Neonatologist in the Division of Neonatology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Dr. Karbalivand completed her residency in pediatrics at Lincoln Medical Center in New York and her neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Her research interests revolve around enhancing neurodevelopmental outcomes screening in at-risk infants. She has specifically investigated the incidence of neonatal hypoglycemia among high-risk newborns and the screening of neurodevelopmental outcomes in normoglycemic versus hypoglycemic neonates at risk for hypoglycemia. Dr. Karbalivand strongly believes in the importance of family-centered care and recognizes its pivotal role in optimizing clinical outcomes for all newborns.
