Research Seminar: “Regeneration & Preservation of Pancreatic Beta Cells in Diabetes”

Speaker:  Rupangi Vasavada, PhD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism Institute, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai 

Talk Summary: Introduce the significance of maintaining normal functional pancreatic beta cell mass in the context of diabetes. Discuss cellular, molecular, and therapeutic ways of how a pathway, first identified in bone, can be manipulated to enhance beta cell growth and survival for the treatment of diabetes.
