Pathway to Prevention (TN01)

1. To identify family members of people with type 1 diabetes that may be at risk for developing type 1 diabetes. 2. To monitor the metabolic and immunologic status of at-risk individuals. Eligible individuals will be offered enrollment in type 1 diabetes prevention studies. See website for more details https://www.trialnet.org/

Eligibility

1.) Be between 2.5 to 45 years and a sibling, offspring, or parent of an individual with type 1 diabetes
2.) Be between 2.5 to 20 years and a niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, grandchild, cousin, or half sibling of an individual with type 1 diabetes
3.) Those who are not family members and are known to have 1 or more islet antibodies are eligible for screening if needed to determine eligibility for a clinical trial to delay or prevent disease progression
