Linda Camacho, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC
I have been at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for the past 22 years. I was a pediatric surgical nurse for 10 years and transitioned to a nurse practitioner role with the Division of Pediatric Surgery for the past 12 years. I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a master’s degree in nursing. I completed a pediatric nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist program at UCLA June 2011.
The earlier years of my career I had worked with adults. Soon after my pediatric nursing rotation I realized that I wanted to become a pediatric nurse. I love caring for children because they are fun-loving and all they want to do is play and have fun. My favorite story is when a child was allowed to eat, I gave him a popsicle and the smile on his face was priceless.
I initiated a pediatric nurse practitioner-led outpatient gastrostomy tube clinic. My latest endeavor is being the lead nurse practitioner in our outpatient multidisciplinary nasogastric tube feeding clinic. I enjoy learning and knowledge sharing and support academia by precepting nurse practitioner students and mentorship.
On my free time I love to cook, bake, and sew. I enjoy spending time traveling with my nieces and nephews. I spend my relaxing time working in the garden growing vegetables, herbs, flowers and caring for my fruit trees.
