We recognize multiple achievements by our faculty. Our office provides oversight for the application and selection process for development opportunities, resources, career development grant opportunities and awards/honors.

Robert M. McAllister Faculty Mentoring Award

This annual award honors an individual full-time senior faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics that demonstrates “effective mentoring through guiding and nurturing the collegial and professional development of junior faculty.” The award is named after Robert (Mac) McAllister, past professor of pediatrics and research director, and beloved mentor to a generation of faculty in the Department of Pediatrics.  The award acknowledges the importance the CHLA Department of Pediatrics places on faculty mentoring and consists of an engraved plaque and honorarium.

USC Mellon Mentoring Award

The USC Mellon Mentoring Awards honor individual faculty for helping build a supportive academic environment at USC through faculty-to-student and faculty-to-faculty mentoring. In addition, the USC-Mellon Culture of Mentoring Award recognizes a mentoring program or faculty development strategy in an academic unit that provides a vital resource for faculty growth and success.
