Our Division provides outstanding surgical services for children who come to our hospital, as well as at several satellite surgical offices that serve a broad geographic territory, from the San Fernando Valley to the San Gabriel Valley and beyond.

Our pediatric surgeons hold privileges at hospitals throughout Southern California. The Division has emerged as a leader in such areas as oncology and Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).

Kaden McMullin was diagnosed in utero with a terratoma, a growth threatening his life.  Our surgical team coordinated with our neonatal and oncology teams to save his life.

RESEARCH EFFORTS
Central to the Division’s focused research is the Developmental Biology Program, housed in The Saban Research Institute building at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

In addition, our Division leads research efforts designed to improve surgical techniques for children.

STATE-OF-THE-ART TREATMENT METHODS
We offer state-of-the-art treatment modalities for endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, as well as Robotic Surgery as part of our Minimally Invasive Surgery program.  With a commitment to innovation, the Division emphasizes the use of minimally-invasive surgical techniques whenever possible, which can reduce discomfort and speed recovery times in young patients.
