The Rehabilitation Services Department contracts with several universities to provide student internships in the fields of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech pathology. Student interns are exposed to a diverse patient population in a variety of care settings including acute, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, and specialty care clinics. In addition to a diverse patient population, students work with a variety of ages of patients ranging from older infants to young adults. Most clinical internships are for a minimum of 12 weeks. For OT and PT students, shorter-term clinical placements for 1-3 weeks are also available to contracting schools. Student placements are limited and interviews are required prior to placement. • All requests for clinical affiliations/internships must come directly from the school program coordinator. At this time we are unable to accommodate any new contracts until January 2012.
