Rehabilitation Training

The Rehabilitation Services Department contracts with several universities to provide student internships in the fields of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech pathology.  Student interns are exposed to a diverse patient population in a variety of care settings including acute, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, and specialty care clinics.  In addition to a diverse patient population, students work with a variety of ages of patients ranging from older infants to young adults.  Most clinical internships are for a minimum of 12 weeks.  For OT and PT students, shorter-term clinical placements for 1-3 weeks are also available to contracting schools.

Student placements are limited and interviews are required prior to placement.

• All requests for clinical affiliations/internships must come directly from the school program coordinator. At this time we are unable to accommodate any new contracts until January 2012. Program Coordinators, please feel free to contact us via email at that time to inquire about new contracts.

• For speech pathology students inquiring about a speech internship, please contact the speech pathology student intern coordinator here via email.
