For more than five decades, the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases has been changing the face of cancer and blood diseases through our innovative clinical and research programs, academic excellence and global leadership. We are the nation’s largest pediatric hematology/oncology program and one of the two largest pediatric cancer centers.

Each day, we take on the most complex conditions.  Cases that may seem rare or complicated to staff at other hospitals are routinely treated here.  As a result, families come to us from all over Southern California, the U.S. and the world.  The Center sees more than 1,100 newly diagnosed patients each year. Together, our Day Hospital, Clinic and Urgent Care experience some 25,000 outpatient visits annually.

Our care for children is provided through our three divisions of:

Our Expertise

Our “bench-to-bedside” approach to medical problem-solving integrates scientific and clinical expertise – taking the best ideas from the laboratory to the patient in the form of promising new treatments.

Superior Medicine, Superior People

Clinical Program

Our clinical program unites state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment and psychosocial care with long-term management in a series of interdisciplinary programs.

Hematology-Oncology

Cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease in children between ages one to 14 in the United States. This reality fuels our endeavors. As the leading referral center in the West for the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of childhood cancers, we are working hard to prepare children for life as young adults.
