Homeless Adolescent and Young Adult Wellness Clinic

Homeless Adolescent and Young Adult Wellness Clinic (HAWC) provides integrated services for runaway and homeless youth between the ages of 12 and 24. In 2015, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles provided medical care to 1,400 homeless and precariously housed young people. Free comprehensive medical care, psychological counseling, case management and health education services are offered through the HAWC clinic at The Teen and Young Adult Clinic on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. HAWC also has a Homeless Outreach Team, which provides basic medical screening at youth drop-in centers and shelters to maximize access to care.

Youth in need of medical or mental health evaluation and treatment can be linked directly to care via street outreach, shelters or drop-in centers.
