Emergency and Transport Medicine

The Division of Endocrinology, part of the Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, provides clinical care and conducts research on childhood diabetes, growth, weight management, general endocrinology and bone metabolism.

Endocrinology and Metabolism

The Division takes a comprehensive approach to caring for patients with gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional disorders. Clinical services include a complete nutrition support service and management of intestinal failure, and liver and intestinal transplantation.

General Pediatrics

Our doctors use an interdisciplinary approach to care for children with blood disorders and work continually to make advances in treating blood diseases. 

Hematology

Our clinical programs are aimed at providing state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment, medical and psychosocial care, as well as long term management of patients with pediatric hematologic and oncologic diseases.

Oncology

A section within the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases, BMT is known as a friendly environment for children, treating patients with all forms of childhood diseases treatable by hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Infectious Diseases

The Division is one of only a handful of comprehensive maternal and fetal diagnostic and treatment centers in the United States. Care managers at our facility will help you from diagnosis, through pregnancy, to delivery and transfer to Children's Hospital Los Angeles for neonatal care if needed.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine

The Division of Medical Genetics offers treatment, genetic counseling and follow-up to families affected by any one of 40-plus disorders that are ascertained upon newborn screening.

The Division of Neurology provides care for children with a wide variety of medical needs, including those who:

  • Have been admitted to our hospital for acute primary neurologic conditions
  • Need a neurology consultation as part of their inpatient care
  • Need a ketogenic diet managed
  • Require video electroencephalography (EEG) testing
  • Require neurological care while recovering in our hospital's Rehabilitation Unit

The Department of Pulmonology in the Division of Pediatrics offers comprehensive treatment of congenital, inherited and acquired disorders of the lungs and respiratory system.

The Division of Rehabilitative Medicine is a key component of the multidisciplinary Acute Rehabilitation Program, which treats a range of disorders, including brain injuries, seizure disorders, spinal conditions, fractures, congenital leg length discrepancies, brain tumors, sickle cell disease and rheumatological conditions.

The Division collaborates with a nationwide network of researchers, clinical scholars, public health officials and policymakers to conduct research closely tied to policy and practice.
