Ryan Spurrier, MD, FACS
Dr. Spurrier is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He is an Attending Pediatric Surgeon at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Dr. Spurrier graduated from the University of Illinois in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Spanish. He earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He completed a two-year research fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, focusing on stem cell based tissue engineering. Dr. Spurrier completed his Pediatric Surgery Fellowship training at Oregon Health and Science University’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Spurrier is Board Certified in General Surgery and board eligible in Pediatric Surgery. His clinical areas of interest are trauma surgery, minimally invasive surgery, congenital anomalies of the neonate, and thoracic surgery. Dr. Spurrier practices at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, LA General Medical Center, and California Hospital Medical Center.
