Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Research Program

About our Research Program

The Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is internationally recognized for growth, diabetes, bone, adrenal and other endocrine disorders. It has been recognized by US News & World Report as the top pediatric endocrinology program on the west coast and the fifth-ranked program in the nation. 

The division consists of 14 full-time faculty and two part-time faculty, five fellows, nine nurses, three dietitians, one social worker and a part-time psychologist. In addition to clinical care, the Center places a major emphasis on both clinical and basic research, and currently has over $1.5 million in NIH funding.

The Diabetes and Obesity Program

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and The Saban Research Institute are committed to helping fight childhood obesity and diabetes through the Nutrition and Obesity Program. Our mission is to develop, implement and promote innovative and effective strategies for combating childhood and adolescent diabetes and obesity. Our program is aligned with research, clinical care and community outreach to provide a comprehensive approach.
