Dr. Shay received a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies at Amherst College, her M.Sc from Harvard School of Public Health, and her M.D. from the University of California, Davis. She completed her Pediatric residency and Neonatal-Perinatal fellowship at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital.
After completing her fellowship in 2013, she was an attending neonatologist at Miller Children’s Hospital before joining the CHLA/USC Keck faculty in 2018. She is currently the Associate Medical Director for Interdisciplinary Practice and Family Centered Care for the Newborn and Critical Care Unit at CHLA. Her clinical interests include the patient experience and improving the consistency of communication amongst providers.
