David Rigual, MD

David Rigual earned his Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering Systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 2003, and a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2005. He worked as a Marine engineer aboard US flagged commercial vessels throughout the Atlantic and Pacific from 2005 through 2006. In 2007 he worked for General Electric in Wilmington where he developed a model to predict failure of fuel rods inside nuclear reactors caused by intentional changes in power output. In 2008 Dr Rigual earned credits necessary to qualify for medical school. He subsequently earned his MD degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2013. He completed his internship in General Surgery at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle in 2014. In 2018 he completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Colorado. In 2019 he completed his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of California, Los Angeles. During this time, he trained at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles where he developed a special interest in image guided interventions in pediatric patients. Dr Rigual began his career in private practice as a general diagnostic and interventional Radiologist in San Luis Obispo, California.  He was honored and privileged to have the opportunity to join the faculty of the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles as an Interventional Radiologist in July of 2021.
