Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Recognized in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2021 List

CHLA is the only California children’s hospital honored by the prestigious survey

Los Angeles – For the third year in a row, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) has been named to Newsweek’s list of World’s Best Hospitals 2021. Of the 2,000 hospitals globally designated as World’s Best Hospitals in 2021, CHLA is one of only six standalone children’s hospitals in the U.S. and 25 worldwide to be recognized. It was the only California children’s hospital included in the listing of World’s Best Hospitals. According to Newsweek, the hospitals included in this list “stand out for their consistent excellence, including distinguished physicians, top-notch nursing care and state-of-the-art technology.”

“Inclusion in this list speaks volumes of CHLA’s superior clinical care, patient and family experience, and international reputation,” says CHLA President and CEO Paul S. Viviano. “Given the especially challenging global events of this past year, our organization takes great pride in this honor, as it is a testament to the commitment, hard work and exceptional performance by CHLA team members."

CHLA was honored with specialty health care institutions – a category of more than 160 international women’s hospitals, cancer centers, orthopedics facilities, cardiology centers and children’s hospitals from around the globe. Its recognition was based on evaluations of hospital recommendations from healthcare industry peers: an international online survey that included more than 74,000 doctors, hospital managers and health care professionals.

The World’s Best Hospitals 2021 recognized the best medical institutions across 25 countries: the United States, Canada, Germany, France, UK, Switzerland, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Israel, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Thailand, Italy, Brazil, India, Spain, Mexico, Poland, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

The full list can currently be viewed on Newsweek’s website.
