Hospital Named Among Top 20 Children’s Hospitals by Parents Magazine
Our hospital was the ONLY children's hospital in California to be named in the Top 20 hospitals for kids in the nation, according to the February 2009 issue of Parents Magazine .
Our hospital was delighted to be ranked #19 among children's hospitals in America.
“While we are pleased that we continue to be recognized as one of the top pediatric facilities in the United States, our priority will continue to be providing the very best medical and surgical care to children, teaching the next generation of pediatricians, pediatric surgeons and pediatric nurses and conducting the research that will lead to new treatments and cures for diseases and conditions that afflict our children, like cancer, congenital heart defects, diabetes, sickle cell disease, immune deficiencies, respiratory disorders and more,” said our President and CEO, Richard D. Cordova, FACHE . “We understand the enormous responsibility we have to the children and families we serve and, really, to children everywhere.”
Specialty Care Rankings
Our Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases was ranked #4 in the nation among pediatric cancer programs, and it also was the only pediatric cancer program in California to be honored in the Top 5 in any of the six specialty areas ranked by Parents magazine.
The Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases is one of the nation’s largest pediatric hematology-oncology programs. Today, because of breakthroughs in the treatment of childhood cancers – many pioneered by the physician-scientists at the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases in an approach to medical problem-solving that enables them to integrate their laboratory experience with their clinical expertise, moving effectively from “Bench to Bedside” – children, teenagers and young adults receive the most advanced treatment available anywhere.
