Nursing Jobs at the Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU)
Excellence in Nursing
The American Nurses Credentialing Center has accorded our hospital with Magnet Recognition®. Magnet® status is used as a national benchmark of the quality of care provided by a hospital's patient care services staff members.
Level IV NICU Nurses (RN III)
At the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit, a Level IV NICCU, our devoted nurses are providing state-of-the-art care for some of the sickest and most critically ill newborns in California.
You can help care for these newborns. We are currently hiring experienced nurses (2 years of Level II or III NICU experience preferred).
"The kind of babies we see are the ones that they tell you in nursing school you'll never see. To see these babies go home as a result of the care we provide is our reward." - Nancy Krasno, RN, CN III (25-year veteran)
Join a Diverse Staff
Our unit has nurses who have recently graduated from school, as well as nurses who are seasoned by 35 years or more of experience. In addition, our staff is ethnically diverse, speaking many languages, and originating from many countries, reflecting our diverse patient population.
Every Day is a Learning Opportunity
We have multiple opportunities for clinical and professional development, including ECMO training.
We are actively involved and included by administrators and physicians in making care decisions and process changes on the unit.
This is a complex learning environment that will provide you with new opportunities and challenges in caring for the most acute neonates in Southern California.
We don’t just provide care for children. We care about each other. We frequently reach out to each other for personal and professional support. Teamwork is a necessity in this intensive care environment and something you will encounter here on a daily basis.
An Experience Unlike Any Other
Everyone who comes here agrees – our hospital offers an experience unlike any other! Physicians and nurses are on a first name basis and have created a positive, supportive atmosphere of mutual respect and the highest professional standards.
Our hospital draws patients and nurses from around the region, the country and the world. We are a Magnet Hospital with a powerful focus on education and training. Here, in an environment of medical excellence supported by research, we treat the sickest, most seriously injured children as we advance the science of pediatric medicine.
Hear From One of Our NICCU Nurses
Nancy McNeill came to Children's Hospital Los Angeles as a graduate student and was given many learning opportunities. The first day she entered the NICCU, she knew it's where she wanted to be and doesn't plan to leave!
