The office of Community Affairs is partnering with Los Feliz Neighborhood Council Health and Safety Committee and Councilmember David Ryu's office to provide Stop the Bleed training. This event is open to the community.

About Stop the Bleed

Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. You may be the first on the scene of a major incident… seconds count. Stopping bleeding injuries will save a life!

After the training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the rationale for early use of a tourniquet for lifesaving arm or leg bleeding
  • Determine appropriate application of a tourniquet to an extremity
  • Apply direct pressure and properly dress a severe bleeding wound
  • Learn how to pack a wound
