Faculty Development Workshop Series: "Digital Scholarship: Publishing and Promoting your Scholarly work in the Age of Technology"

Workshop Synopsis:

This interactive workshop aims to provide participants with an understanding of the current state of medical scholars and scholarship on social media, be able to create their own online scholarly profile for dissemination and promotion of their own work, and know how to avoid common pitfalls that can occur in online discussions and conversations.

Please note, this workshop will include the exploration of social medial (mainly Twitter), audio/video technologies available free or low cost on the web, evidence-based sources for digital professionalism. Activities will include didactic lecture, small group activities, and hands-on practice (bring your iPhone or computer!) 


  1. Learn how to promote their scholarship (research, education, quality improvement, conference presentations) via the internet
  2. Build a social media presence for networking and supporting promotion
  3. Troubleshoot common issues of professionalism and privacy

Target Audience:

All faculty members, clinicians, and postdoctoral trainees involved in biomedical research (basic, translational, and clinical).
