There was a time when the opportunities for women to practice medicine were extremely restricted. There was no one to pave the way, no one to guide us, no one to direct us.

“We’re no longer hidden figures in this field; we’re your neighbors, your aunts, your cousins,” says Diabetes Researcher Senta Georgia, “We’re real people who like to do real things. Don’t get caught up in the caricature that science isn’t cool, or that it’s only for one type of person.”
