After 46 years as a registered nurse at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Tommy Covington says goodbye to his CHLA family and reflects on the amazing years he’s had with them.

Tommy spent four years in the Navy as a hospital corpsman caring for the ill and injured. During his time in the Navy, he discovered a passion for nursing, and decided to go to nursing school. When he finished nursing school, he began working at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in June of 1970.

“I would applaud anyone who wants to work here to help take care of our kids, their families, and the community.”

During his time here, Tommy touched many lives and had a positive impact on countless doctors, nurses, patients and families throughout CHLA. We are forever grateful for his many years of dedication to our organization and wish him the best in his future.
