Meet Mary Virgallito, RN, our New RN Remedies Blogger
Mary Virgallito, MSN, RN, CIC, has been part of the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles family for more than 10 years. Since receiving her nursing degree more than 12 years ago, she has been focused on primary care pediatrics, managing a team of nurses and infection control and prevention. At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, she spends her time managing the Infection Prevention and Control Program for our 300+ bed facility, developing infection control awareness materials and organizing a hospital-wide flu vaccine program. When Mary isn’t helping staff and patients stay healthy and “germ free,” you can find her baking sweet treats for loved ones and colleagues. How does she offset the sweets? Waterskiing! Mary loves to waterski and recently learned to waterski on one ski. Additionally, her and her husband’s dream is to sail for a week in the British Virgin Islands. Aside from baking and water sports, Mary thinks being a mom is the best. “Being a mom is my absolute most favorite thing in the world.” We’re excited to have Mary join the RN Remedies Program and offer her infection prevention and control expertise. If you have a question about germs, Mary has you covered! Help us welcome Mary by sharing this blog post on Facebook and Twitter!
