Meet Marvin Mangahis, our new RN Remedies Blogger
On behalf of all the nurses of the RN Remedies program, we want to introduce Marvin Mangahis, our first male nurse blogger. This is an exciting time for the RN Remedies program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Marvin has been a pediatric nurse for more than 15 years. He began his nursing career in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). When he started his own family, he decided to join the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles family, where he has been for eight years. He’s one of the lead nurses in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). “I am a husband and a father of three young kids. Moms definitely know best, and I hope to offer you a little bit of ‘dad’s perspective’ to anything and everything related to the health and care of your kids,” shares Marvin. When he’s not working, he finds joy in cooking and creating new food dishes with his kids, especially with ingredients freshly grown in their home garden. He also practices and teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at a children’s program at a local academy. Marvin's first RN Remedies topic will cover how to properly prepare for surgery and will be launching next month. Keep an eye out for it. Help us welcome Marvin by sharing this blog post on Facebook and Twitter!
