Together We Made March Matter

This spring marked the launch of the inaugural Make March Matter campaign to rally businesses across Los Angeles in support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and to bring focus to the health care needs of children.

Make March Matter officially launched with a kickoff pizza party hosted by CHLA patient Hazel Hammersley and sponsored by PizzaRev. Longtime CHLA partners Ranjan Goswami, member of the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Board of Trustees and Delta Airlines’ vice president; Sales-West; and Luc Robitaille, president of Business Operations for the Los Angeles Kings, joined Hazel, her mom Lauren and DeAnn Marshall, senior vice president and chief development and marketing officer at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, to commence the campaign.

More than 65 companies and thousands of individuals participated in a variety of fundraising activities that raised over $1.25 million during the month of March to help ensure that CHLA can continue to provide critical, lifesaving care to kids here in Los Angeles. From drinking coffee to shopping to eating out, or getting your hair done or exercising, you could do virtually anything in March to help raise money through businesses all across the city.

The campaign culminated at month’s end with Mega Miracle Day, celebrating the success of Make March Matter and thanking all the businesses that participated. More than 350 people from partner companies attended the event, where they heard inspiring patient stories and gained valuable learning experiences.
