The Division, the core component of The Vision Center, is the largest pediatric ophthalmology program in the United States. We are a referral center for children afflicted with complex forms of eye disease, providing the full range of inpatient and outpatient services, with subspecialty programs in cornea and refractive surgery, oculoplastics, optic nerve hypoplasia, retinoblastoma, retinal disorders, neurophysiology of vision and non-invasive technology.

We are the only program in the country with expertise and treatment and research programs in virtually every subspecialty area of pediatric ophthalmology.

The Division is led by Mark Borchert, MD.  Dr. Borchert is a pioneer in research and treatment for children with optic nerve hypoplasia and is leading cutting-edge innovations to improve pediatric ophthalmology care.
