Visiting a Child in the PICU
Parents
As parents, you are welcome at your child’s bedside 24 hours per day.
Siblings
Sibling visitation is encouraged and should be planned with the nurse. Visiting time for siblings and other visitors are from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
General Vistor Restrictions
- Patient rooms are limited to two family members/visitors at a time.
- Any visitor currently ill or recently exposed to communicable diseases may not visit.
- Flowers and plants may not be placed at the bedside.
- Everyone must wash their hands upon entering and leaving the patient room.
- Drinks with lids are allowed at the bedside, but food should not be brought to the PICU.
- Please limit the patient’s personal belongings to a few special washable items.
- A limited number of overnight sleep rooms are available to parents (please see the Unit Charge Nurse for assignment)
