Services We Provide

As a family traveling internationally to obtain care for your child or adolescent, you can rely on our staff to provide you with services designed to make your health care experience as comfortable, convenient and efficient as possible:

Appointment Scheduling and Coordination of Medical Services

For assistance arranging appointments with our medical teams or medical specialists, please contact us by phone at 323-361-7337.

For assistance with the coordination of a referral from your physician, please dial your country code and call 888-631-2452.

Medical Records

Our team will work with your referring hospital and doctors to obtain your medical records to help make the transition as easy as possible for your family.

Financial Consultation and Estimate of Medical Costs

Our International Patient Services team can help with your banking and business services needs.

  • Billing and insurance information is provided on our site to get you started.
  • For insurance, eligibility or admissions questions call Admitting at 323-361-2515.
  • In most cases, we can provide an estimate of charges within 48 hours. In addition, our team can also help your family estimate the patient's medical costs and anticipated living expenses while in the U.S.
  • We can provide an explanation of charges for our medical services.

Interpreter and Language Assistance

We want to ensure that our culturally and linguistically diverse patients/families can communicate effectively with the medical staff and employees.  We are one of the first hospitals in the nation to have instituted a formal Diversity Services Department. We can also arrange for interpreter services outside the hospital if that's required.

Please note that native Arabic speaker Mr. Sami Mekamar is on staff, ready to assist Arabic-speaking nationals with coordination of their care and travel.

Transportation and Housing

Our staff will provide assistance in coordinating travel to and from the hospital from the airport, including assistance with airline reservations.

Immigration and Customs

If you're coming from outside the United States, you can get up-to-date information on obtaining visas for your family members online, and our staff is available to assist with this process. If required, our staff will maintain regular contact with your referring embassy. Our team can provide you with an explanation of charges for physician and hospital services.

Preparation of Expected Medical Plan

When a child or adolescent is traveling from overseas for a complex treatment, our team will work with our physicians and surgeons to develop medical plans when the information is requested by a referring embassy.

Cultural & Religious Support

The diversity of our patients and their families is reflected in the services we offer and in the diversity of our staff. Our international patient services team will identify community resources to help you feel more comfortable during your stay in Los Angeles.

Security for Dignitaries

Our hospital's experienced security team can assist patients and other individuals requiring higher levels of security when traveling abroad. Arrangements can be made from the time that your family arrives at the airport, and continuing throughout the duration of the patient's treatment.
