In addition to the numerous educational opportunities offered to teens at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, programs encouraging teen health are also available, providing resources and services regarding HIV prevention, sex education and teen pregnancy.

Capacity-Building Assistance Services for HIV-Prevention

The Center for Strengthening Youth Prevention Paradigms provides free capacity-building assistance (CBA) services to mobilize communities in the Western Region of the United States around HIV prevention for youth.  Known as the "SYPP Center," staff in the Division of Adolescent Medicineat Children's Hospital Los Angeles have developed their community mobilization model based on the successes of previous efforts around HIV-prevention for at-risk youth.  They are using this model to train grassroots agencies in the community to improve their effectiveness in interventions with at-risk youth populations.

Through Project NATEEN, pregnant and parenting teens receive a full spectrum of: supportive services. Young parents, their families and partners work with specially-trained advocates to identify needs and the paths to accomplish them.
