Research of the Center Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
The Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is a major referral center for the Los Angeles area with approximately 13,000 outpatient visits per year and approximately 300 inpatient consultations per year. The Center is well-established and internationally recognized for growth, diabetes, bone, and other endocrine disorders. In 2010, it was recognized by US News & World Report as the top pediatric endocrinology program on the west coast (for the second consecutive year) and the sixth-ranked program in the nation. The division consists of 8 full-time faculty and four part-time faculty, 5 fellows, 9 nurses, 3 dietitians, and 1 social worker, and a part-time psychologist. In addition to clinical care, the Center places a major emphasis on both clinical and basic research, and currently has over $1.5 million in NIH funding. Faculty
