The Dream for Kids Grand Opening Gala will celebrate all those who helped our dream to construct Los Angeles' premier children's hospital become a reality. As we open the Marion and John E. Anderson Pavilion, we close the successful ten-year Living Proof campaign and launch Children's Hospital Los Angeles into another 110 years of excellence serving the children of Southern California and around the world.
Over 1,500 guests including Los Angeles' top philanthropists, business leaders, celebrities, and other special guests will attend an evening of celebration to benefit Children's Hospital. This spectacular affair, held at L.A. Live, will feature cuisine from Wolfgang Puck and Nobu Matsuhisa, world class entertainment and sumptuous décor.
Children's Hospital Los Angeles Board of Trustees Co-Chair Marion Anderson was honored with the "Living Proof Visionary" Award and New Hospital Building Campaign Co-Chairs Chris Albrecht and Trustee Mary Hart received the "Building the Dream" Award.
Nearly 1,500 supporters gathered at Dream for Kids in support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and helped raised $7 million, the most ever raised at a single event in the hospital’s history. Ardent supporters Billy Crystal, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Guest, Eric Stonestreet Mary Hart, Melanie Griffith, Garcelle Beauvias and Alex Meneses joined prominent philanthropists, business leaders and elected officials to walk the red carpet at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles for “Dream for Kids: The Grand Opening Gala.”
The event, proudly supported by AEG and presented by Starz, LLC, celebrated the completion of a new $636 million hospital building, opening July 10, at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The magical evening also commemorated the hospital’s 110th anniversary.
