Our office negotiates a variety of agreement that have bearing on intellectual property such as collaboration agreements, material transfer agreements, inter-institutional agreements, confidentiality agreements, research funding agreements, license agreements and more. In fiscal year 09-10, we negotiated and entered into a total of 194 agreements.

Invention Disclosures
In our previous fiscal year, the Office of Technology Transfer identified 17 new inventions that are being actively marketed to commercial partners.

Licensing Opportunities
We are actively seeking to partner 49 innovations which can lead to products and services in the fields of therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, software, and copyrighted education and clinical products. Our office has already entered into 33 licensing transactions to bring hospital innovations to the public.

Total Research Funding
Researchers at The Saban Research Institute have been awarded over $34 million in grant funding designed to spur further work that will likely result in numerous discoveries, inventions, and new technologies that will benefit the marketplace.

Total Revenue
Our licensing and patenting efforts have resulted in an exponential increase in licensing revenues for the institution. In fiscal year 09-10, our office generated $800,000 in revenues. We have also judiciously managed our investments in new opportunities as reflected in the income to expense ratio chart below.
