Fit For Fun: Free Health Screenings at Hollywood YMCA
November 14, 2009 The Vision Center at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, in conjunction with Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA), Young Physicians organization and the Hollywood YMCA, held a free health care screening on November 14 for neighborhood families at the YMCA's offices near the corner of Schrader and Sunset Boulevards. Three Vision Center ophthalmologists participated:
Cassandra Fink, M.P.H., supervisor of clinical trials, also volunteered for the vision screening. The Vision Center physicians were joined by several other physicians and nurses from the Young Physicians organization and LACMA. During the three-hour screening, some 25 children and 35 adults were screened. During the screenings, a young girl was diagnosed with esotropia, a form of strabismus, in which one eye turns inward.
