When I was pregnant with Christopher, I found out at about 26 weeks along that Christopher had a heart defect called Hypoplastic Left heart syndrome.
When he was born at Kaiser on Sunset, Dr. Salem and his team did the EEG and Heart ultrasound to make sure that is what was wrong. A couple hours after being born, he was transported across the street to CHLA. I was only able to see him for about 20 mins before they took him.
 At 2-days-old, he underwent open heart surgery. Everything went good. He was at CHLA for 2 weeks than got transported back to Kaiser on sunset. Christopher is now 5 months old and he's a tough little guy. He will soon be having his next surgery. Hopefully everything goes smoothly like the first.
Dr. Starnes and his team did a wonderful job. And his nurses he had in the CTICU were amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better place for him to have his surgery at! Thanks a lot!
