Kathleen Anulao, RN, MSN, FNP, APRN, BC Bio

Kathleen Anulao, RN, MSN, FNP, APRN, BC, serves as an advanced practice nurse in the Retina Institute of The Vision Center at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She earned her master of science in nursing, along with her nursing degrees at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She completed her bachelor of science in nursing at Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles.

As part of the health care team in the Retina Institute, Anulao assists in the management of patients with retinoblastoma, acting as liaison between The Vision Center and the Hospital's Division of Hematology-Oncology and Department of Surgery. She also performs eye examinations, develops patient care plans, prescribes medications and orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.

Her varied nursing career includes experience in the operating room, in community settings and in research capacities. Anulao has lectured second-year nursing students at UCLA on ophthalmology in the primary care setting for advanced practice nurses. In addition, she has addressed clinical and administrative staff at Children's Hospital Los Angeles on such issues as retinopathy of prematurity and the role of the advanced practice nurse in ophthalmology, among many other presentations.
