Anand Panangadan, PhD Bio

Anand Panangadan, PhD, is a research associate at The Saban Research Institute of Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He received his bachelors in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, then earned both his masters and PhD in computer science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In his post-doctoral research at UCLA, he implemented embedded reasoning algorithms on a mobile robot. Dr. Panangadan’s current research is focused in part on applying artificial intelligence to the development of sensor networks for human health monitoring applications. He also is developing -sensor data classification algorithms (computational procedures) that will operate in real-time for this application.

Dr. Panangadan has been an instructor in the Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore; and a teaching assistant in computer science at UCLA.
