Ambulatory Surgery Center

Our hospital’s Ambulatory Surgery Center is a new, modern, fully-equipped pediatric surgery center dedicated to providing care for children.

We have three state-of-the-art operating rooms and one procedure room for non-sterile cases such as LASIK. In addition, we use an overflow room for sedating children to ease pain during tests.

Our center is staffed by pediatric anesthesiologists and pediatric-trained registered nurse anesthetists who are specially trained in providing care for children.

Cutting-Edge Care Accessible for Families

Family-Friendly Environment

•  Pre-surgical Tours Offered for Families
•  Play area staffed with a Child Life Specialist
•  Access to our: gardens, eating options, and family-friendly waiting areas
•  Parents join children at the bedside as they go to sleep and as they awaken from surgery
•  Complimentary Valet on Procedure Day

Our hospital has a reputation for providing treatment throughout the entire range of care, from routine procedures to complex surgeries that involve the coordinated participation of an array of multidisciplinary specialists.

Many surgery centers are not prepared to provide surgical intervention for children who need more than a simple or "straight-forward" procedure.  These types of cases routinely are treated at our hospital.

Examples of just a few of the complex surgical situations we routinely encounter:

  • A diabetic child needs their tonsils removed but needs to be managed by an endocrinologist during the procedure and in recovery
  • Surgery for a child with craniofacial anomalies where ventilating tubes are inserted through the ears
  • Procedures for children born prematurely and suffering from chronic lung disorders

Hospital Experts Accessible

Having a modern and comprehensive surgical center in our hospital means that our surgeons have access to all specialists who may be needed for information or assessment.  In addition, should your child's complex case require hospitalization for post-surgical recovery, care can be smoothly transferred from the operating room to an inpatient setting.
