Thank You to Britticares for Giving the Gift of Life

This year, Britticares Foundation helped children at our hospital by hosting one of the most successful one-day blood donation events in our hospital's history . . .

Our goal for collecting whole blood units for a single day at our hospital is:

35 units per day

On December 13, 2008, during a half-day Britticares Event entitled "Give Life for Christmas, our hospital collected 180 units of whole blood for patients who received care from our hospital during the holidays. As the holidays is our slowest time for blood donations, we are exceptionally grateful to Britticares International for their generosity and generous holiday spirit.

About BrittiCares International

BrittiCares International is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to finding new and better ways to improve the quality of life for children who have been diagnosed with cancer, leukemia, and other serious blood disease.

BrittiCares was founded by, as well as inspired by little girl named Brittiana Henderson who was first diagnosed at the age of 10 with Osteogenic Sarcoma (bone cancer) and later developed leukemia where she fought courageously, without complaining, all while assisting other children with cancer to help defeat the pernicious disease. Although Brittiana’s battle against Leukemia came to an end at the tender age of 13, the efforts of BrittiCares (BCI) have not diminished. BCI continues to raise funds and public awareness to combat this disease.
