Meet Linda Heller

Linda Heller, MS, RD, CSP, CLE has served as the Clinical Nutrition Manager of Clinical Nutrition Services for our hospital since 2000.

She is a board certified specialist in Pediatrics (CSP) and currently serves as a CSP exam reviewer for the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Linda is a certified Lactation Educator (CLE) through UCLA Extension, leads the Lactation Team at our hospital and has been instrumental in the significant improvement of lactation services provided through this group.


ICAN:  Infant Children Adolescent Nutrition

She recently accepted the position as editor for the first professional bi-monthly journal solely dedicated to pediatric nutrition, Infant Children Adolescent Nutrition (ICAN) published by Sage Publications and launched in February 2009.

Linda also serves as nutritional consultant for California Medical Services /California Children Services, as well acts as consultant for a sub-acute facility for infants, children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, and for the California Regional Centers for the Developmentally Disabled.  

Previously, she served as a Clinical Director for Health Promotions for Southern California Special Olympics. For nearly 30 years, Linda has worked with children and adults with special healthcare needs including those with:

  • Neuro-developmental disabilities
  • Feeding disabilities
  • Pulmonary disease
  • Cardiac defects
  • Severe food allergies

After completing her dietetic internship, she became the first dietitian assigned to the Immunology /Allergy Division of our hospital, where she helped to identify and standardize nationally accepted protocols for managing the nutritional impact of HIV/AIDS in infants, children and adolescents.  

Linda is the incoming Treasurer for the Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association. She earned both her bachelor's of science and master's degrees from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and completed her dietetic internship and LEND training at the USC UCEDD at our hospital.

Linda served as faculty for the LEND program and has an active appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics for the USC School of Medicine.
