Many processed foods contain milk protein (ie luncheon meats, margarine, cakes, sauces, and cookies) 2.Read labels for the presence of milk protein 3. Milk-free diet may be low in Calcium, Protein, Vitamin A, D, and riboflavin 4. Supplementation and dietary adjustments are likely required for a child on a milk free diet- consult with your dietitian 5. The designation “parve” means a product is free of milk. “Lactose Free” does not mean a product is free of milk protein
