Fetal Cardiology Program

The Fetal Cardiology Program provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art diagnosis and care for the fetus with congenital heart disease.  Using high-resolution 2-D and 3-D fetal cardiac imaging, in conjunction with quantitative spectral and color Doppler techniques, experienced fetal cardiologists perform detailed evaluations of fetuses at risk for heart disease, and diagnose and manage both simple and complex forms of fetal heart disease.

Following every diagnosis we make, one of our fetal cardiologists provides a thorough explanation of the defect to the parent and family, along with a description of the anticipated fetal and neonatal course, possible surgical interventions, and long-term prognosis or outlook.

To provide comprehensive care for families, we coordinate patients' care with our hospital's Division of Cardiology, The Heart Institute, the Center for Fetal and Neonatal Medicine, and the Institute of Maternal-Fetal Health.
