This tertiary center provides care for high acuity patients.  There are 13-20 ventilators at all times and around 25 ECMO runs every year.

The LAC+USC Medical Center delivers approximately 1,600 mostly high-risk deliveries each year to a primarily Hispanic patient population.  Approximately 600 patients are admitted each year to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).  In the state-of-the-art new LAC+USC Medical Center’s NICU approximately 4-10 infants are receiving ventilator treatment at all times, and the unit includes chronic care and observation units.  The majority of the babies provided care at this center are born in the hospital, a significant number of referrals are being received from outside hospitals belonging primarily to the Los Angeles County health System.

Approximately 5,000 deliveries take place at this hospital annually, making the neonatal intensive care unit, a very busy place. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center has 15 beds to provide care for critically ill pre-term and term neonates and there are 5-10 step-down beds available for lower acuity patients.  Many high-risk pregnancies are delivered by maternal-fetal specialists and obstetricians working at the CHLA-USC Institute for Maternal - Fetal Health or obstetricians working at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.

This 23-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides care for critically ill and often extremely premature neonates born at the medical center. Approximately 3500 deliveries take place at this hospital annually. Many pregnant women with complex medical conditions are treated at Good Samaritan Medical Center and their babies often need intensive care in the unit's highly specialized, state-of-the-art environment providing services for this patient population.
