Patients are scheduled in Day Hospital for treatments and procedures that take longer than one hour, such as:
- Blood transfusions
- Chemotherapy infusions
- Bone marrow aspirations
- Spinal taps
- IVIG or other medication infusions
Please bring all the medicines your child is taking at home.
Meals are not provided, but eating is permitted in the Day Hospital and you may bring food from home. Vending machines are located in the Day Hospital waiting room.
A parent or a legal guardian must stay with the patient during his/her entire visit
PAGERS: If you need to leave Day Hospital for a short time, we have pagers available for your use. Please ask the nursing staff about this service.

- Patients with a central line will have labs drawn by the Day Hospital nurses
- Patients without a central line who will need an IV to get treatment may have labs drawn by the Day Hospital nurse placing their IV, instead of going to the Outpatient Lab.
