Injury Free Coalition for Kids
Injury Free Coalition for Kids is an organization that looks to research for best practices in preventing and reducing injuries to children through a hospital-based, research-driven model, implemented in collaboration and partnerships with coalitions of community stakeholders.
Safe Kids Worldwide
Safe Kids Worldwide's vision is to eliminate preventable childhood injuries. Its mission is to support community partners dedicated to preventing accidental injury or death from occurring to children ages 14 and under. The mission is rooted in a public health model with a goal to be a resource for knowledge and expertise related to its mission.
Injury Prevention Alliance of Los Angeles County
CHLA initiated the unification of local injury prevention leaders through the Injury Prevention Alliance of Los Angeles County (IPALAC). IPALAC is co-facilitated by Safe Kids Los Angeles West (Helen Arbogast) and Safe Kids Los Angeles (James D) Members include: Los Angeles Fire Department, Los Angeles Police Department, City Council, Los Angeles Unified School District, Great Beginnings for Black Babies, Safe Moves, Department of Transportation, Safe Kids USA, California Highway Patrol, Department of Motor Vehicles, Commission for Children, Youth, and Families, and multiple other organizations. IPALAC’s mission is to improve community-based injury prevention efforts in the Los Angeles area through collaboration, support and networking among the injury prevention community to collectively advance child safety as a health and wellness priority.

- IPALAC Objectives
- Advocacy Engage public and private partners to educate the public, policy makers, and others about injuries and violence and to advocate for laws, public policies, and increased funding that reflect best practices.
- Collaboration Build and maintain partnerships and collaborations that work toward prevention efforts in Los Angeles County.
- Education Improve access to community resources, enhance and increase the dissemination of resources for injury prevention efforts to children, parents and caregivers, professional providers and the community at large.
- Research and Evaluation Research evidence-based projects to use as best practice models for injury prevention and encourage evaluation of existing programs among Alliance membership agencies.
- Implementation Implement successful programs and projects demonstrated through evidence-based outcomes and foster interagency collaboration.
